It all started off simple enough. Vickie, Laura and I were to travel to Boulder, Colorado for James' graduation from the Culinary School of the Rockies (CSR). Of course, like all great heroes, we had to be challenged. Mother Nature whipped up a doosy of a snow storm that paralyzed the Northeast. But after a 7.5 hour drive to LaGuardia (after they closed Hartford and White Plains airports) and nearly 24 hours of traveling, we made it to Denver and then Boulder. In the end, it was definitely worth it!
We stayed at the historic Boulderado Hotel and loved it. Here we are sitting in front of the fireplace in the lobby. (You click on any photo to see a larger version. Just click the browser "Back" button when you are done.)

Even the walkway connecting the older building to the newer one was beautiful:

We were treated to a real feast at the CSR graduation. Lots of friends and family were there:

There were so many guests that some had to eat in the kitchen:

Here are a few shots of James getting his diploma:

James was a real culinary "rock star" at his sushi table. Here James-san made all sorts of sushi and sashimi to order and won over lots of converts:

The next day we were treated to a tour of Boulder. The scenery was just magnificent! Check out the Flat Irons (any Coors beer drinkers should recognize these):

Here we are up on the mountain, overlooking Boulder:

Can you tell which way the wind is blowing in this next shot?!?

A BIG thank you to Teddy for treating us all in style throughout our journey. It was truly appreciated!
